.How much load a person can carry is unique to each person and may vary from day to day. This is true with EMF as much as with other of life's burdens. Some who are quick to dehydrate, like myself, feel the symptoms at lower doses and faster. Most will feel the slow-cooking-like exhaustion over time and never make the connection. The less sensitive may notice nothing until diagnosed with a serious illness. To begin to understand what your load is, you need guidance on how to properly self-evaluate your existing load. That's what's on offer here.
Part 2 of this article is about a healthy way of dealing with the irreducible EMF. Harmonization, not blocking, is key. I use the harmonizing products developed by French physicist, Pierre Nicolas. No other brand is as advanced, useful, or powerful.
I have kept my opinions as close to fact-based as possible. I do not know the specific mechanics of the effects of EMF or the so-called Blue World on people. Nor do I know the mechanics of the effects of the products I use. I don't have the kind of Einstein-like mind or breadth or depth of education required to understand such complex mechanics. As a practicing clinician, I do know that these tips are what I've used to help myself and others feel better in our homes and offices. May you feel better, too.
EMF & EMR
All electronic appliances, equipment, and devices emit a measurable electromagnetic field (EMF.) This field is often measured in milliGauss (mG) at the extremely low frequency (ELF) setting. Ideally, EMF levels should be below 8 mG and decline to zero within three feet of the source. If this decline does not occur, it indicates a wiring or shielding problem worth solving. Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) is more complex. In this author's experienced-based opinion, EMR is far more mentally debilitating and dehydrating. EMR comes from things like cell phone towers, cable/wifi modems, and smart meters. EMR has become a bigger problem than EMF. EMR frequencies are filling up our airwaves leaving many of us to feel like life is a pressure prison. Pierre Nicolas is creating products that transform these frequencies. His goal is for us to be healthier without being without technology.
Biological sensitivity makes a difference. Environmental load makes a difference. Both factors determine who gets what symptoms after how long. Introverts and children, for example, tend to be more sensitive. The sensitive among us need help, now. The sensitive are also our "canaries in the coal mine." Please respect and believe us. We tend to be emotional; it is part of being hypersensitive. Please don't let that detract you from learning from us.
The areas to focus an EMF/EMR evaluation on are the places where a person spends most of their time. Usually, that will be either at work/school or when sleeping. The goal is to reduce the volume of EMF/EMR at the places we spend most of our time on a daily basis.
Another aspect to exposure is the addiction factor. EMF/EMR can be addictive. It's like a location addiction: They like to hang out in the most toxic spot. There's no awareness with this kind of addiction, and it is not the addict's fault. The addict in this case is the unwitting victim.
EMF/EMR can also affect sensitive plants, animals, and sensitive equipment like printers. I've met people who kept having to replace their printers until the excess stray EMF was reduced or the printer was relocated to a lower EMF location. Suddenly, their printers stopped malfunctioning. Plants that struggle to grow in an EMF-heavy location, blossom when relieved of their Blue World burden. You have to be able to measure for EMF in order to identify these location hot spots. Some people don't need a measurement tool, though, because they've learned to use their own, sensitive bodies to feel the difference between stress loads by noticing their own symptoms as they fluctuate. It takes significant self-awareness to do this. My lungs, for example, quickly become congested. It's not fun or safe, so I prefer to use an inanimate tool, instead, called a Gauss meter.
I still use a straight Gauss meter to measure EMF in mG at the ELF setting. Mine can only measure on a single plane. At each location, I record the highest, single-plane reading, knowing it's the bare-minimum. There is a formula for calculating the true load from all three planes, but I don't bother. Your power company’s environmental health and safety department will have a Gauss meter that can measure and calculate the levels on all three planes. Yet, less-expensive, limited meters like my own are as accurate. Tri-meters are now on the market, but I've not yet upgraded. I prefer and recommend digital meters to eliminate needle distractions from the readings. EMF and EMR fields are rarely constant.
EMF levels above 4 mG are considered to be elevated.
EMF levels above 8 mG are considered to be significantly elevated.
Western European countries found a high incidence of childhood leukemia at a constant 4 mG. The United States now acknowledges these findings, but will not take a stand on any other EMF health-related issues. However, medical professionals are now acknowledging that there are health-related problems related to things such as cell phone use. My local power company now has a task force for "emerging issues." The tide is changing. This is good.
America has an "innovation, first" instead of "safety first" mentality. Americans also tend to have short memories about things they don't want to know. Yet, our military knows about the health problems associated with EMR. It's why they, along with other countries, hired experts to keep their pilots safe. Those health effects are similar to standard radiation exposure:
One scientific report I read 20 years ago stated that "disturbing changes occurred at the cellular level" when subjected to EMFs. The scientists urged further research. My clinical observations led me to believe, long ago, that EMF/EMR causes cellular, molecular dehydration. It's a kind of dehydration that drinking water does not quench. It's a dehydration that fogs the mind, degrades immunity, and increases reactivity.
The importance of hydration and cleanliness of the connective tissue on our health cannot be overstated:
Connective tissue is everywhere in the body, wrapping, protecting, and nourishing all other organs and structures. Connective tissue is a sensory organ in that the nerves end there. Connective tissue is a part of the immune system in that there is no disconnect between the end of the superficial fascia and the beginning of the lymphatic system.
Connective tissue does it's wondrous job because it thrives on a plasma-like, closed fluid system under pressure. When the connective tissue becomes dehydrated, fascial adhesions soar, lymph flow slows, and internal communication suffers. Soon, pain and stiffness set in, speeding up the aging process, which brings aging diseases in tow. We are wise to keep our connective tissue happy and hydrated.
Chronic dehydration is known as a major cause of degenerative aging diseases. The body is a conductor of bio-electricity. Water is very important to biological conductivity and thus to our health. Water quality matters. The solution to our EMF/EMR problems is to find a way for those frequencies to not interfere with the role of water in living tissues. That's what Pierre Nicolas and YouMatrix are all about.
Measurement with a Gauss meter while an appliance is on, is the only way to know for sure of excess or stray EMF. Check the top, sides, and bottom of the appliance, on all three planes, and look for spikes in the reading. In general, the more expensive the appliance, the more well-made and shielded it likely is.
Any electrical appliances that do not need to be on, can be unplugged when not in use. Today’s outlet strips have an on/off switch that makes it easier to do this without having to deal with many individual plugs.
If your appliance has a thick, boxy plug, plan to measure the plug for EMF, too. I call these transformer plugs. The older the transformer plug, the higher the EMF. Transformer plugs emit extremely high EMF levels varying in range from 40 – 200 mG. The more of these transformer plugs you have, the more cumulative EMF you are dealing with. In general, these plugs are a good thing, because they keep the appliance from being the source of the EMF. Yet, if you plug them in under your bed or desk or favorite sofa position, you are exposing yourself to high EMF. Get an extension cord and move transformer plugs to a safe distance. 3-6 feet is the suggested distance.
EMF within three feet of where you spend a lot of time or within six feet of where you sleep, is problematic.
Appliances that have an in-line transformer box are usually computers and these are fading out of existence. These transformers are safer than transformer plugs, but still emit above 5.0 mG up to around 45 mG.
Appliances that affect the air in a room, like air conditioners, fans, and air purifiers are doubly troubling because the EMF clings, so to speak, to the water molecules in the air and then they get breathed in. This is one of those rock/hard places because one method of hydration is increasing a room's humidity levels to between 30-55%. Prioritize hydration. Measure the EMF before you buy, if you can. Speaking of breathing in EMF: Electronic vaping, really?
Cordless, landline phones. I don’t recommend owning one after losing significant hearing in my left ear from using one. And, I'm not a phone person. After adding a YouMatrix product to my cordless phone, I felt a significant, positive difference. But, the damage had already been done.
In the kitchen, the digital electronic portions of microwaves, stoves, and dishwashers can emit EMF fields, too. Dishwashers, less so. Gas stoves without electronic ignition are preferable. Microwaves, in this author’s opinion, are not needed and not worth the added stress burden. If used, be at least fifteen feet away when it is in operation. Most refrigerators emit high EMF, although usually only to the rear. Worse, refrigerators and freezers cause a new kind of problem related to gas compression. Compressed gas disturbances affect people’s brains, causing a loss in focus and ability to concentrate. I've seen this in action and it's astounding. The negative effects of gas compression are not limited by walls and usually extend up to 20 feet in any direction of a refrigeration unit. For this reason, it is advisable not to sleep within 20 feet of any refrigeration unit. In hotel and motel rooms, unplug the refrigerator.
All dimmer light switches I tested emit medium-to-high EMF, varying depending on brand and quality of wiring. Usually at least 15 mG.
THE FUSE BOX
Fuse boxes or breaker boxes, unless fully shielded, usually emit extremely high levels of EMF. Improperly wired homes and offices can cause the EMF from the fuse box to travel in the walls along electrical wires, water lines, or gas lines. The same is true if power to a large building is doing the same thing. Any wire or metal pipe that has an EMF field and also touches a water line, can transmit the EMF to the water in the line. For this reason, I measure walls, floors, and ceilings, too, looking for any spikes. Get a professional to repair or ground any wiring problems.
If you measure the ground around your building and find huge EMF spikes, it may be an issue you need to report to your power company's environmental health and safety department - assuming they will take your call. They may have formal procedures. Ask what you can do to be in compliance. Be respectful and rational. Please. Even if they won't let you file a formal report, they may send trucks out to check the area. Be on the lookout and be grateful if you see them out there. I have found that calmly and diligently reporting EMF found on public grounds (while mentioning any mysterious health problems) causes the utility to covertly find and repair the problem. In one such case, six repair trucks suddenly showed up on the block of a client’s home where I had done an EMF evaluation. The electric company put the woman off for a week until after the trucks were all gone, and then they offered to come and check out the problem. Of course, they had already fixed the problem.
Please note that no electrician or regular power company employee will know anything about EMF or Gauss meters. One client used the word Gauss meter each time she called, and ended up having the gas company come to her home, three times, to check for a gas leak. You can’t make this stuff up. Please also note the significance that the people who do know, are in the “environmental health and safety department” of the power company.
Keep the body hydrated with water to reduce cellular level dehydration. There are lots of companies selling special waters and water treatments. I have no advice accept to notice how your body feels when you drink that water vs. your tap water. I use the same company to treat my New York City, filtered tap water that I use to treat myself, my clients, and my home. They make good stuff.
Water needs vary from person to person. Use this simple Mayo Clinic formula for determining your water intake need: half your body weight, in ounces, per day. Caffeinated beverages, tea, soda, sugared drinks, alcohol, and juice are fluids but do not constitute water in the form intended here. In fact, they dehydrate versus hydrate. The water in raw, crisp, watery vegetables also counts toward daily water intake needs.
If you don't like the taste of water, add a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime. If you are not used to drinking water, you'll likely complain about the bathroom trips when you start. Give your body time to adjust. Slowly work your way up to the recommended amount.
Carbonated water is not your friend. It is not hydrating and it causes chemical imbalance. Sorry. I love those bubbles, too, but I stay away from even "naturally carbonated" spring waters due to the symptoms I get. My clients who don't drink water, don't do well for a few days after our sessions. Clients who drink lots of carbonated water do even worse. Science will someday prove me right on this carbonation oddity.
Good news! Daily, moderate self-care routines like meditation, mindfulness exercises, tai chi, fascial stretching, and the MELT Method help! More so than you might expect. They all seem to counter the cellular stress that EMF causes. The latter two also improve the hydration and health of the connective tissue, as long as you don't overdo it. However, in cities EMF/EMR load is so high, more protection is needed. Please have a daily self-care routine, anyway.
Quality EMF/EMR products create a harmonizing feeling that improves quality of life and health. I have been using the legacy products, listed below, for myself, my clients, and our homes and offices since 2002. There is nothing woo-woo about the products. They do not block unhealthy frequencies because blocking isn't sustainable. But, you may need to be a quantum physicist, electronics specialist, physician, and Eastern medicine genius to even begin to understand them. I have researched other options, yet I continue to prefer the products developed by Pierre Nicolas, now called YouMatrix. YouMatrix now has a lab in the USA. Keeping up with changing tech is a challenge. YouMatrix has slowed production of their legacy products from France in order to ramp up production of more modern, potent, and affordable options here in the States. Note: When these products are available, again, this article and others will be updated, accordingly. So for now, the names and descriptions, below, are the legacy versions. You may also follow YouMatrix to see what's available at any given time. Please be patient.
The following legacy product suggestions are for a generalized protocol. This protocol may suffice as a substitute for a customized plan based on Gauss meter readings. The products are in order of importance from most to least for most situations. Your situation and your priorities are ultimately what matter when choosing protection.
The Refrigerator/Freezer Protect: A 5-disc-set made especially to protect from EMF and harmonize from disturbances produced by gas compression in the refrigeration process – disturbances which have been shown (and I have witnessed) to affect the function and regulation of the brain. Highly advised for anyone sleeping or working within 20’ in any direction of a refrigeration unit, regardless of walls. As always, load matters. For example: many fridges along a store's wall, next door, presents a more difficult problem.
The Fuse Box/Electric Protect: A 5-disc-set that is placed directly on the fuse box, minimizing the EMF effects both at the source and for all of the wiring from the box to the outlets. There is a standard set and a heavy-duty set.
Wall Protect 3D: This 5-disc-set has a harmonizing or “de-stressing” effect from EMF and other “blue world” pollutions coming from outside the home or office, like Radio Frequency Waves and WiFi. The stress it takes off a sensitive body and brain is palpable and makes living and working in my home much more comfortable. It is third in priority, but it usually is the one that is most noticed by people, usually within twenty minutes of installation. When I switched from the original Wall Protect to the newer, 3D version, that is when I became aware of how much the WiFi revolution has affected our brains – I could feel the difference without making an effort. With the installation of smart meters and 5G internet/wifi, I will be upgrading, yet again, as soon as product is available. The wall protect is installed as its name suggests: on the inside of an exterior wall. In unusual situations, a floor could be employed.
Cell/Cordless Phone Protect: My feelings about cell phones and cordless phones are very strong based upon the damage I have seen these things cause. Doctors from NYU Medical have gone public about these health problems, too. Therefore, I urge everyone to use this affordable protection - but not from the legacy line. YouMatrix has a modernized, more effective product, and it is available as of this update.
Computers: As computer technology keeps changing, so do the products for various computer setups, so they won’t be mentioned in detail here, but there are products for just about any computer setup. My old, 2011 iMac was especially hard on the eyes and brain, so, for example, I used my old “laptop protect” and added a 5-disc “electric protect” to it. Much nicer now. The new iMacs are better, but I still use the same protections.
Colloidal Solutions: Although listed last because they are water products, these are not least important. The legacy colloidal solutions are the most economical and useful, because they can be used anywhere, and on almost anything, including and especially any living body or plant. Rumor has it that the colloidal solutions will be returning. The top seller and my favorite is Nirvana II, a great vitality restorer and first-aid kit item. It gives me more energy, reduces and can even eliminate pain, speeds healing, etc. Sold in 16oz bottles for transfer to your own mist-like spray bottle for application. The second favorite is Voyager as it helps eliminate jet lag and the stress on the body from flying.
Most people, especially sensitive people, notice a difference within twenty minutes after implementation of the devices. They feel calmer, more relaxed and can think more clearly. The resultant effects on overall health and immune function: priceless. In city environments, more protection may be necessary.
Legacy products can be expensive, because each is meticulously hand-made and shipped from overseas. They are also portable in case one moves, and will last forever as long as not broken. A small chip will not affect their function, but a chip half-way through or a crack all the way through requires immediate disposal.
There is usually a 60-day money-back guarantee as long as the products are returned unbroken and in clean, sale-able condition.
Solutions to everyday stress involve identifying where we are emotionally unhappy and then taking action to correct or curb the circumstances involved. I love this kind of healing-based problem-solving and happily share for those seeking similar unique yet ubiquitous solutions. Consequently, the topics here may vary within health, lifestyle, and work/business.
