I love sharing information with clients and peers, but please don't listen to a word I say. Instead, if something resonates with you? Then happily check it out, first, to see if it's right for you.
Thank you!

Jason Fung MD - A Modern Savior?

My story is too long and complicated to share in a blog, but I can summarize if my reader is willing to take me at my word: Most of the nutrition advice that the dietary medical professionals told me, led me down the slow path to morbid obesity and poorer health. Until now.
Between the Apple Cider Vinegar drink that I found only through my desperate research on how to help this horrible arthritis that came from nowhere (many other health problems run in my genetic blood, but not arthritis) and Dr. Jason Fung, for the first time in 20 years I am losing weight and getting my life back. It was a slow process getting sick, and it is a slow process healing, not the least because I’m obsessed with research so I don’t want to thoughtlessly rush in. But, I am healing now thanks to Dr. Jason Fung.

He teaches intermittent fasting. Up until recently, fasting was a dirty word to me. Due to the extremists that I met who were fasting themselves into brain damage, no one could get me anywhere near a book or a class or even a lecture on fasting. Extremism is never healthy. However, in this case, my fears led me astray. I should have studied it years ago, and I could have prevented these rather unpleasant health problems. Water under the bridge; for my struggles can now help others.

Even if you are not obese, please read either of the two books that Dr. Fung contributed to. Personally, I prefer The Obesity Code, because it’s all Fung and research. Or just listen to this interview or many other free talks and interviews by and with Fung and decide for yourself.

But, like my connective tissue therapies, some things have to be experienced to be understood. So, study up and give it your best shot - I think you will be pleased once the early side effects are over. Very pleased.

In addition to having the sacred honor of watching my body rise from its struggles with food oppression, I have come to the conclusion that many of my clients would not have the pain, range of motion limitations, and foggy thinking that too many of them come to me with, if they, too, knew about the health benefits of fasting. Nearly every culture has a fasting ritual. Science may be behind, but those rituals had a purpose - and they are needed more today than at any other time because food is more plentiful today than at any other time.

But do me one favor? Go into this with the right frame of mind. Frame the body’s problems by assuming competence: What is my body trying to protect me from? How is my body trying to help me? When we demonize the body in any way, we imprison ourselves. Set yourself free by refusing to falsely accuse the only one truly on your side: Your body.

That is all. The rest is for your pleasure to investigate.

However, if you like super plain talk when it's good for what ails ya, you'll like this interview where Dr. Fung says what needs to be said to get common sense back on the table - both for dinner and for discussion!

    Goals

Solutions to everyday stress involve identifying where we are emotionally unhappy and then taking action to correct or curb the circumstances involved, and that means finding out what’s at the root of a given problem, before seeking solutions. I love this kind of problem-solving and happily share for those seeking similar unique yet ubiquitous solutions. Consequently, the topics here may vary within health, lifestyle, and work/business.
