For the first time in 20 years I am losing weight and getting my life back. It was a slow process - at five pounds per year - getting sick, but the healing process has been faster. I am healing now thanks to Dr. Fung. Fung teaches intermittent fasting. Until recently, fasting was a dirty word to me. I'd only met fasting extremists with absurd ideas, and they scared me away from even investigating the health benefits of fasting. Extremism is never healthy, but I shouldn't have thrown the baby out with the bathwater. I should have studied fasting years ago, and I could have prevented these rather unpleasant health problems. Or you can listen to him free of charge on his YouTube channel. Go for the longer lectures for the needed understanding. Like my connective tissue therapies, some things have to be experienced to be understood. So, experiment with intermittent fasting if for no other reason than to shed the remarkably prevalent, false fear of fasting. Our bodies need a break, now and then, from constantly needing to digest food. Your body will thank you with improved functioning. In addition to having the sacred honor of watching my body rise from its struggles with food oppression, I have come to the conclusion that many of my clients would not have the pain, range of motion limitations, and foggy thinking that too many of them come to me with, if they, too, knew about the health benefits of fasting. Nearly every culture has a fasting ritual. Science may be behind, but those rituals had a purpose - and they are needed more today than at any other time because food is more plentiful today than at any other time.
