Off The Cuff

TSUNAMI, ANIMALS AND THE RETURN TO BEING HUMANS Occasionally, folks ask us about where the safest place to live is in light of the traditional prophecies regarding the potential for cataclysm including natural disasters. Our response is typically that when we come to balance within ourselves, aligned with our natural path and purpose we will find ourselves in the right place. There is no one part of the world that we should flock to because of its "safety." The only thing to be sure of is not to make decisions based on fear. ... Of course we are all aware of the devastating Tsunami that hit southeast Asia [December 26, 2004], and our hearts and prayers go for those that lost their lives and those that continue to suffer from this. Perhaps some of you read the [2004] CNN article that discussed that virtually no animals were hurt during the tsunami. The article attributes this to a "sixth sense" that animals have, whereby they recognize impending disasters and have the wherewithal to react. It is ironic that this fact has become "news", as it was something our ancestors and all Indigenous cultures recognized. Again, one of the many lessons we learn from the Native peoples of the world is to pay attention to the signs that fall before us, to watch the animals and listen to our environment. This is the call, to come back into balance within ourselves, community and planet. The above was offered by Sacred Roadrunner or Saq’ Be’.
Saq' Be' is a 501(c)3 non profit organization operated on a volunteer basis. Saq' Be' works with Native communities, at their request, to help preserve ancient traditions and to open doors for those communities to share teachings with the rest of the world, especially young adults.
