Off The Cuff

Take what works, discard what doesn’t.
We're all unique even though our basic needs are the same.

Quality of Health Depends on Magnesium

4/7/2025

I am loathe to sound the alarm unless I need to make a point that gets through as it did not get through to me: Magnesium supplementation is a must for most people! My usual "don't listen to a word I say" does not apply. All adults need to address the magnesium deficiency problem we have by learning about magnesium and doing our own homework, because there is no reliable blood test to inform us. Within, is everything you need to get started.

Magnesium is an essential element required in over 300 reactions necessary for metabolic health. Scientific, anecdotal, and user evidence overwhelmingly supports the fact that likely ⅔ of Western population is deficient - for good but sad reasons - in this 4th most common mineral after calcium, sodium, and potassium.

Restless Leg Syndrome

This is for those who have experienced and suffer from the peculiar internal discomfort that is restless leg syndrome, separate from leg cramps or spasms, and for those interested in furthering the research. This is not a regurgitation of available science, but conclusions based on lived experiences and observations that will hopefully inspire future research into the chemical imbalance issues related to: carbonated drinks.
Tl;Dr - Find out if carbonation is affecting you in problematic ways: Go 2-4 weeks without any carbonated beverages, including naturally carbonated spring water and beers,  and observe for changes.

Most people make SEO (search engine optimization) out to be complicated. Some just want you to hire them to do it for you, usually at a price the sole proprietor cannot afford.

SEO only appears complicated. Once you have and understand the bottom-line, needed information, it quickly becomes a matter of simple logic: Do your due diligence and SEO blossoms as if on its own.

Healing is a Mindset We All Need

11/19/2023

Picture
Through objective hindsight, I realize that I have always been a healer.
Where healing has been welcome, I have been successful.
Where healing has not been welcome, I have failed.
Those are broad, yet relatively accurate, strokes.

Healing is nothing more than identifying that which is incorrect and correcting it.
To heal the world, we must be open to correction.
Pollution, for example, is incorrect. Remove pollution and healing happens, naturally.
Healing correction is never violent or extreme, punishing or condemnatory.

Healing is a vital mindset that can be nurtured in anyone.
When healing is one's bottom line then everything we encounter in life that is amiss and can be corrected by us, gets corrected.
Allowing incorrectness to live on is corruption, and corruption is sickness.
Correction is healing.

Healing is also a feeling as well as a mindset.
When all is right with the world, the feeling we experience is one of internal peace, and that sense of peace is a healing feeling.
Healing feelings, combined with helpful effort, have the power to make right what feels wrong.

When I am with a client, my healing mindset gets supercharged, you might say.
Yet any environment where healing is welcome can be a supercharge opportunity.
It is up to us to curate environments that invite supercharged healing energy in.

There will never be an end to healing work.
Good.
It means none of us will ever be out of work.

About me.

Drinkable Arthritis Relief

11/11/2023

Picture
A multi-purpose home remedy ingredient I purposely ignored due to my gut’s inability to tolerate it, has turned out to be an occasional, needed remedy: Vinegar. Specifically, apple cider vinegar or ACV. It is one of three main ingredients in a recipe I hope you will join me in trying. Well diluted, ACV is already known to be a digestive helper, immune supporter, and weight loss tool, but combined with one or two other antimicrobial ingredients, it packs a powerful punch for arthritic relief, too - but only if it 'tastes' right to you. Vinegar can exasperate candida symptoms and potentially stress liver, kidneys, and central nervous system. As always with natural medicines, use judiciously and do your own research.

One of the first areas of our body to be affected by aging is the center of the lower pelvis, where the bladder lives. No matter your age, life's uncomfortable when holding or releasing your water becomes a struggle. I developed a little bladder pushup program I share with clients that helps keep the fascia and the bladder in better shape. There are also some no-nonsense bladder health tips from Julia at Ascension Physio that I recommend. Download her free e-booklet and get yourself some continence peace of mind for your future.

Fibromyalgia is Not a Disease

7/10/2023

Fibromyalgia (FM) is not a disease for which, once they find a cure, a pill can be popped and now everything is okay. FM doesn’t have a single cause. (Or does it?) It is not a bug or a virus or a parasite. Fibromyalgia is not, despite its name, about muscle pain. Fibromyalgia is not incurable. Fibromyalgia is not in your or anyone else’s head.
Update: An underlying cause or aggravation of fibromyalgia may be magnesium deficiency.

I have the intelligence to know I am stupid, and the arrogance to experiment. Both are key scientific values.

    Goal

To express solution-oriented arguments toward a healthier self and world.

    Insights

We can live without our thinking brain, but will die without our emotional brain.  Listen to those first emotions, for the body never lies. Then do thoughtful diligence, because we often lie to ourselves.
    ---
    No 'system' is corrupt;

each employee either does the most and best they can, or they choose to do the least they can get away with.
    ---
No technology is bad, each person who uses it chooses to behave or not within it.
    ---
If we agree upon and prioritize a single core value, like integrity, everything we say and do would reflect that value, even as time, technology, and circumstances change.
    ---
If we apply, for example, polarity physics to social communications and transactions, we would recognize the importance of balancing the best of both liberal and conservative aspects, instead of knee-jerking from one unbalanced extreme to another like a free radical.
    ---
Emotions are vital yet never an adult's excuse for responding immaturely. Instead, see emotional spikes, whether positive or negative, as a sign to slow down, backup, and proceed with informed caution or a change in direction.
